Colorado in 6 Days: Red Rocks, Rocky Mountain National Park, the Maroon Bells, Pikes Peak and the Great Sand Dunes

6 DAYS 7 places by WaTrips

Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Rocky Mountain National Park, the Maroon Bells, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, the Great Sand Dunes and Mesa Verde.

Colorado is high peaks and wide valleys. Start at Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver, then drive Trail Ridge Road through Rocky Mountain National Park. See the Maroon Bells reflected in their lake near Aspen, the red rock formations of the Garden of the Gods and the view from the top of Pikes Peak. Climb the tallest dunes in North America at Great Sand Dunes, and end at the cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde. June to September is best; Maroon Bells needs a shuttle reservation.
