Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the WaTrips app and website. By creating an account or using WaTrips, you agree to them.

1. The service

WaTrips lets you check in at places you visit, plan solo and group trips, join rider groups, share check-ins with friends or the public, keep a Digital Passport of countries you've visited, and browse verified travel agents, home stays, and vehicle rentals listed by third-party businesses.

2. Your account

You need an account to use WaTrips, created via email/password, Google, or Apple sign-in. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything that happens under it. You must be at least 13 years old to use WaTrips.

3. Your content

You own the photos, notes, and reviews you post. By posting content that's visible to others (public or friends-only), you give WaTrips the license needed to store and display it as the app's features describe — nothing more. You're responsible for what you post, and it must be your own or something you have the right to share.

4. Check-ins and location accuracy

Check-ins are based on your device's GPS. WaTrips runs automated checks to catch obviously spoofed or impossible check-ins (for example, two check-ins that would require impossible travel speed), but we don't guarantee every check-in is accurate, and we may remove ones that clearly aren't.

5. Business listings

Travel agents, home stays, and vehicle rentals shown in WaTrips are independent third-party businesses, not operated by WaTrips. We review submitted verification documents before a listing goes live, but WaTrips isn't a party to any booking, payment, or agreement you make with a listed business — that's between you and them.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use WaTrips to:

• Post content that's illegal, harassing, or infringes someone else's rights
• Spoof your location or otherwise fake check-ins
• Impersonate another person or business, or submit false verification documents
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the app's normal operation

7. Suspension and termination

You can deactivate your account at any time (reversible by signing back in) or delete it permanently from Privacy & Data in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Disclaimers

WaTrips is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the app will always be available, error-free, or that every place, review, or business listing is accurate. Use good judgment, especially when traveling to unfamiliar places or booking with a listed business.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, WaTrips isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including anything related to a third-party business listing or a trip you plan through it.

10. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
