Start in Nha Trang with the Po Nagar Cham towers and the white Buddha of Long Son Pagoda, then ride up to Da Lat, a pine-covered hill town with a French railway station, the strange Crazy House and the Truc Lam Monastery above a lake. Ride the mountain coaster at Datanla Falls, drop down to Mui Ne's red Fairy Stream and sand dunes, and finish by the sea at Vung Tau under its giant Christ statue. December to April is driest.

Po Nagar Cham Towers

Po Nagar is a group of Cham temple towers on a hill near the mouth of the Cai River in Nha Trang. Built between the 8th and 13th centuries, it is dedicated to the goddess Yan Po Nagar, mother of the kingdom. The main tower still holds her statue and remains an active place of worship. Modest dress is required, and there are good views of the river and fishing boats.
