Pokhara and Chitwan in 5 Days: Lakes, Mountain Views and Jungle Safaris

5 DAYS 7 places by WaTrips

Bandipur, Phewa Lake, the World Peace Pagoda, Davis Falls, Sarangkot sunrise, the Mountain Museum and Chitwan's rhinos.

This easy trip pairs Nepal's lake town with its jungle. Stop in the Newar hill town of Bandipur on the way from Kathmandu, then spend two days in Pokhara: row on Phewa Lake, walk up to the World Peace Pagoda, see Davis Falls, watch the sunrise over Annapurna and Machhapuchhre from Sarangkot and visit the International Mountain Museum. Drive down to Chitwan National Park for canoe rides, jungle walks and a jeep safari to see one-horned rhinos, and perhaps a tiger. October to March is best.
