WaTrips helps travelers find the places worth stopping for, plan the route between them and remember every trip. It started with road trips in India and now covers all 36 states and union territories of India, plus Sri Lanka, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, the Maldives, Bahrain and Kuwait.
What you'll find here
The Trip Blog is a library of day-by-day trip guides. Each guide follows a real route district by district and, for every stop, tells you:
- The must-visit places: forts, temples, mosques and churches, beaches, waterfalls, viewpoints and museums, each with a short story of what makes it special.
- The best time to go: month-by-month temperature and rain for each region, so you know when to plan the trip.
- Where to eat on the way: local food spots near the route.
- How long it takes: the number of days, stops and kilometres, so you can fit the trip to your holiday.
How we make our guides
Every place in a guide comes from the WaTrips places list, which our team builds and checks:
- Locations are checked on the map. Each place is pinned at its real entrance, gate or viewpoint using open map data, so directions take you to the right spot.
- Photos are real and credited. We use photos of the exact place from Wikimedia Commons under free licences, and name the photographer under each one.
- Seasons come from climate data. Best-time-to-visit advice is based on long-term NASA POWER climate records, adjusted for altitude; live weather comes from MET Norway.
- Travelers keep it honest. People who visit a place with the app can check in and rate it, and anyone can tell us about a mistake.
When something changes — a place closes, a road opens, a review flags a problem — we update the guide.
The WaTrips app
The free WaTrips app takes the guides on the road. Save a trip plan, check in at each place, collect a stamp in your digital passport for every country, find food and camp spots nearby, and ride together with travelers around you. See everything it does on the Features page.
