5 DAYS 7 places by WaTrips

The great stupas of Kathmandu, Kopan Monastery, Namo Buddha, Pokhara's Peace Pagoda and Lumbini, the Buddha's birthplace.

Nepal is where the Buddha was born, and Buddhism is woven through the country. Begin at Swayambhunath above Kathmandu and the vast white stupa of Boudhanath, centre of the Tibetan community, then visit Kopan Monastery and the hilltop monastery of Namo Buddha. See Pokhara's World Peace Pagoda above Phewa Lake and end in Lumbini, at the Maya Devi Temple built over the spot of the Buddha's birth, with monasteries from many countries in the park around it. Walk clockwise around stupas, and dress modestly in temples.
