Auckland in 3 Days: The Sky Tower, Rangitoto, Waiheke and Piha

3 DAYS 4 places by WaTrips

The Sky Tower, the volcanic island of Rangitoto, Waiheke's beaches and vineyards, and Piha's black-sand beach.

Auckland, the 'City of Sails', is built on dozens of volcanoes. Go up the Sky Tower and take the ferry to Rangitoto, a young volcanic island you can climb in an hour. Spend a day on Waiheke Island with its beaches and vineyards, and finish on the west coast at Piha, a wild black-sand surf beach below Lion Rock. December to March is warmest.
