At the end of the corniche, where the mountains come down to the sea, a giant white incense burner stands on the hill. Below it, families spread out on the lawns as the evening cools.
The park
Riyam Park lies at the eastern end of Mutrah Corniche, between the sea and the mountains. It has lawns, shady trees and a small amusement area, and is a favourite family spot in the evenings. The play area suits children.
The incense burner
The park is best known for the giant white incense burner monument on the hill above it. It is lit up after dark, a striking sight above the park.
