Paonta Sahib Gurudwara

Gurudwara Paonta Sahib stands on the bank of the Yamuna in Sirmaur, where Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, lived for about four years from 1685 and wrote much of the Dasam Granth. A small museum displays his pens and weapons of the period. The gurdwara is especially lively during Hola Mohalla and on the Guru's birth anniversary.

Renuka Lake

Renuka Lake is the largest natural lake in Himachal Pradesh, long and narrow and said to have the outline of a sleeping woman. It is sacred to Renuka, mother of the sage Parashurama, whose own small lake lies beside it. A path circles the water, and there is boating, a small zoo and a lion safari. A big fair is held in November.
