Hyderabad in 3 Days: Charminar, Golconda and Ramoji Film City

3 DAYS 11 places by WaTrips

The Old City around Charminar, Golconda Fort and the Qutb Shahi tombs, Hussain Sagar at night, the Statue of Equality and a day at Ramoji Film City.

Hyderabad mixes four centuries of history with a big, modern city. The first day is the Old City on foot: Charminar, the vast Mecca Masjid beside it, the Nizams' Chowmahalla Palace and the huge Salar Jung Museum collection (closed on Fridays). Day two starts early at Golconda Fort, before the heat, then the domed Qutb Shahi tombs next door; in the evening the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge is lit up across the lake. On day three see Birla Mandir and the Buddha statue on Hussain Sagar, then head out to the Statue of Equality and spend the rest of the day at Ramoji Film City. Do not leave without trying the biryani; October to February has the mildest weather.
