Godavari Delta and Konaseema in 3 Days: Temples, Mangroves and Yanam

3 DAYS 7 places by WaTrips

Annavaram's hill temple, Rajahmundry's Godavari bridges, Coringa's mangroves, Yanam, Konaseema's coconut country to Antarvedi, and Dwaraka Tirumala.

Where the Godavari spreads into its delta, the land turns into canals, paddy fields and coconut palms. Begin at the Annavaram hill temple on the highway and reach Rajahmundry for the evening by the river and its long bridges; a boat trip on the Godavari is worth the time. Day two goes to the coast: the Coringa mangroves by boardwalk and boat, Yanam, a small former French town that is part of Puducherry, and on through Konaseema's coconut groves to Antarvedi, where the river meets the sea. The last day visits the Somarama temple in Bhimavaram and the hill temple of Dwaraka Tirumala before Vijayawada. Do try the Godavari food on the way, especially the sweets.
